ARC void deadline calculator
Enter the day a ticket, refund or exchange was issued. You get the last moment it can be voided in IAR, in Eastern time, with weekends and ARC holidays already skipped.
Void by 11:59 PM ET on Wednesday, 11/04/2026
Issued Tue 11/03/2026; the next business day is Wed 11/04/2026.
The rule
- Issued through a GDS (a sale, refund or exchange): void or modify it in IAR until 11:59 PM Eastern on the next business day after the day it was issued.
- Weekends are not business days. A ticket issued on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday can be voided until Monday night.
- ARC holidays are not business days either. When the deadline would fall on one, it moves to the next business day. See the 2026 ARC calendar for every holiday and what it moves.
- Added by hand in IAR: a manually entered sale, refund or exchange can be voided only on the same day, by 11:59 PM Eastern.
Before you rely on it
- This is ARC's window for voiding in IAR. A carrier's own agency policy can be stricter, notably for exchanges and refunds, so check the carrier's rules for anything unusual.
- When you void in the GDS itself, its cut-off can run on the agency's local time rather than Eastern; check your GDS. The answer above is in Eastern time, which is what IAR uses.
- Tickets reported through BSP (outside the United States) and tickets issued directly by an airline through NDC follow different rules.
- Voiding late is how agencies collect debit memos, so leave a margin. In TripDesk365 a ticketed booking shows its cancellation window, which closes three hours before ARC's deadline so there is time to act.
Worked examples, 2026
| Issued (GDS) | Void until | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Wed 10/07/2026 | Thu 10/08/2026, 11:59 PM ET | The next business day |
| Fri 10/09/2026 | Mon 10/12/2026, 11:59 PM ET | The weekend is skipped (Columbus Day is not an ARC holiday) |
| Wed 11/25/2026 | Mon 11/30/2026, 11:59 PM ET | Thanksgiving, the day after, and the weekend are skipped |
| Thu 12/24/2026 | Mon 12/28/2026, 11:59 PM ET | Christmas Day and the weekend are skipped |
Rule from ARC's expedited reporting FAQs; holidays from the ARC holiday schedule. Times are US Eastern (11:59 PM ET is one minute before midnight). This is a guide, not ARC's system: IAR is the final word.
